Scented Candles, Gift Sets and Home Fragrances: Our Christmas Selection

Which perfume should you give at Christmas?

Giving a fragrance means choosing for someone else, which is what makes it daunting. The surest approach starts from what the person already loves, a material, a memory, an olfactory family, rather than from a trend. Then comes the question of intensity: a discreet trail to accompany the everyday, a richer concentration for winter evenings and the moments you want to be memorable. Size matters too. The 30 ml lends itself to a first gesture, the 100 ml to a fragrance you feel certain about. Our Christmas selection brings together creations that answer all three.

A unisex gift, for her as much as for him

Why give a scented candle at Christmas?

A scented candle is easier to give than a perfume: it speaks to a room rather than to skin, and asks nothing of the giver in terms of personal taste. It belongs to the moments people share, a set table, an evening that runs long, a home that welcomes. What remains is telling a real composition from a seasonal object. Many Christmas scented candles rest on decoration, a pattern, a red lid, and are forgotten by January. This holiday selection is first a matter of accords: what you give still holds its own in February.

Candle gift sets and formats in the selection

A gift set gathers several fragrances into a single gesture, with no need to choose between them. Ours bring together three home fragrances, in a discovery format when the idea is to let someone explore several atmospheres, in a larger format when the gift is meant to last. Scented candles come in two sizes, one for a living room, the other for larger spaces and long evenings. Reed diffusers range from a compact format to the largest capacities, and carry on afterwards with a refill. To these are added room sprays, the car diffuser, and the gift card, for when the choice belongs to the person receiving it. Beyond the holidays, our full range of home fragrance gift sets remains available all year.

Which home fragrance to choose for the holidays?

December calls for enveloping accords: precious woods, warm spices, resins, sometimes an amber or gourmand facet. These are registers that hold their ground in a heated room, where a citrus freshness soon evaporates. The gesture matters as much as the fragrance. A scented candle suits living rooms and moments around the table, where the flame is part of the atmosphere. A reed diffuser offers continuous, unattended diffusion in an entryway or a hallway, then carries on with a refill. A room spray, for its part, answers a more immediate need, just before guests arrive.

The full home collection, and the fragrance selection

This selection represents only part of our creations for the home. Every home fragrance of the Maison can be discovered within the candle and home collection, from citrus to woody, floral to oriental amber. And if the gift you have in mind belongs on skin rather than in a room, our Christmas selection of fragrances brings together the Maison's perfumes and gift sets for the season.

What sets an exceptional scented candle apart

A luxury candle is judged neither by its vessel nor by its label, but by the quality of its composition and the way it fills a room. At Nicolaï, home creations follow the same olfactory standard as the perfumes, to the point that certain fragrances exist in both worlds, on the skin and in the home. That is what separates a creation of French haute parfumerie from a seasonal candle: a constructed accord, held from start to finish, and just as convincing once the holidays have passed.
